So, you have decided its time to wipe away the cobwebs and get rid of that extra bulk irritating you for who knows how long. But where to start with your weight loss master plan? If you don't want your plan to fail before you have even begun then avoid these 3 biggest diet mistakes.
1.Attitude of sacrifice. Your diet is not a sacrifice. I repeat, you do not have to sacrifice anything. The secret is to keep things simple, so why make it hard by denying yourself the foods you love? Yes, you can have that chocolate, or that piece of cake, or any of the so called unhealthy foods, just have less of them, cut them down by half. Dieting while still enjoying those 'bad' snacks you love makes maintaining and sticking to your plan that much easier. The end result will be that much more attainable.
2.All or nothing attitude. This attitude definitely dooms your diet plan to fail because it is based on that rarely achieved, if not impossible attitude of perfection. Here, there can be no missed meals, or workouts. Absolutely no 'bad foods', not even one bite. Certain meals at certain precise times, certain workouts at certain exact times. Life has a way of throwing curveballs at you, so what happens if, for some reason or another, you cannot have that meal or workout? You will throw in the towel. This attitude is way too strict and allows absolutely no leeway for error, something we humans are quite prone to. Just chill and don't be so hard on yourself. After all, you are just trying to lose some weight, not change the world!
3.Goals. Again, don't go overboard, set realistic goals that can be achieved over time. Set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals, no matter how small. always start with the end in mind. Always keep the end in mind because it will make you concentrate on the results you want to achieve and not what you have to do to achieve them. What is very important is to record your goals and read them constantly. What this will do is keep you motivated and keep your eye on the prize.
By avoiding the 3 biggest diet mistakes you won't sabotage your weight loss plan before it even begins. Stay focused and disciplined, never give up, and take action. Remember, don't do nothing, do something, anything, as long as you take some action!
